(American AG Radio) – The November WASDE report will include a resurvey of harvested corn and soybean acres in Minnesota and North Dakota. The winter storm that swept through the region is expected to reflect the impact of the storm in the next report.

“I think that is going to drop total production by a minimum of 250 million bushels of corn. Soybeans are very hard to get a handle on but think there will be some significant losses, freeze related losses especially in North Dakota.” said Scott Irwin Ag Economist at the University of Illinois speaking with Mike Adams on Adams on Agriculture.

The storm brought a potential season ending freeze, high wind speeds, difficult travel and  anywhere from a foot to three feet of snow in some areas. This has set back harvest efforts and delayed late maturing crops.

The October report release on the Oct. 10 had harvested corn at 81.1 million. Harvested soybeans pegged at 75.6 million.
