(IngredientNews Staff) – The International Companies announced today that it is restructuring in order to boost customer service and provide a growth platform for its businesses and employees.

To provide superior customer service, The International Companies is combining each of its individual business unit support areas, such as customer service, purchasing, quality, supply chain and manufacturing, into Centers of Excellence that will support all of the business units.

It is also merging its two food companies, ingredient distributor and advisor International Food Products, and Dairy House, the ingredient blender and product developer for the beverage, dairy and food industries. The new business unit will be called International Food Products.

The International Companies’ other business, International Ingredient Corp., a feed ingredient manufacturer and distributor, will remain as a separate business unit, and will also benefit from and rely on the new Centers of Excellence for support.

“By bringing our best practices together, we will be able to better serve all of our customers and put our people and company on a continued path for growth,” said Clayton Brown, CEO of The International Companies.

Dairy House offers innovation and technical expertise in the areas of product development and specialty ingredient blends.  Their products include chocolate drink powders, cocoa blends, vitamin and mineral blends, stabilizer blends, flavor systems for drink applications, and meal replacement powders.

With a seasoned team of commodity and supply chain experts, and nearly 40-year history, International Food Products serves as an ingredient trader, distributor and advisor to food manufacturers and food service companies throughout the U.S.

International Ingredient Corp. is a manufacturer and distributor of specialty ingredients for the animal feed and pet food industries, which are made from food industry by-products.

Brown said revenue from The International Companies grew from $283 million in 2010 to $320 million in 2011. He expects revenue of $350 million for 2012.

To support the new growth strategy, The International Companies is adding six new positions immediately.
