(Agriculture.com) – On Monday, the CME Group’s corn, soybean and wheat markets are expected to start higher.
The early calls for the commodities on Monday, January 5, 2015, are stronger. Corn is seen opening 8-10 cents higher, soybeans 11-12 cents higher, and wheat 10-12 cents higher.
In overnight trading, the March corn futures contract traded 8 cents higher at $4.03 per bushel. March soybean futures traded 11 1/4 cents higher at $10.18. The March wheat futures contract traded 10 1/2 cents higher at $5.91. For March soybean meal futures, the contract traded $5.40 per short ton higher at $345.80; March soybean oil futures traded $0.04 higher at $32.13.
The outside markets are unfavorable for Monday’s grain trade. The real factors driving the calls will be the higher overnight markets.
