Canadian Wheat Production May Rise

(Bloomberg) – Canada’s production of wheat, including durum, may total 25.261 million metric tons in the year that began Aug. 1, up from last month’s estimate of 24.16 million and output last year of 23.167 million, the Canadian Agriculture Ministry said.
The harvest excluding durum may total 21.089 million tons, above last month’s forecast and more than the 20.142 million produced a year earlier, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said today in an e-mailed statement. Production of durum, used to make pasta, may total 4.172 million tons, compared with 3.025 million last year.
