(Agriculture.com) – Ukrainian grain exports from sea ports fell to 665,000 tonnes in the Nov. 10-16 week from 1.4 million tonnes a week earlier, analyst APK-Inform said on Monday.

The consultancy said in a statement that smaller shipments of wheat and barley were the main reason for the drop.

Wheat shipments fell by 77 percent to 153,000 tonnes, while barley exports declined by 88 percent to 21,000 tonnes.

The export of corn fell by 14 percent to 491,000 tonnes, APK-Inform said.

The consultancy said Ukraine sent its grain mostly to Spain and Italy.

Ukrainian grain exports from sea ports rose 63 percent to 3.5 million tonnes in October from 2.2 million tonnes in September.

Ukraine plans to harvest a record 68 million tonnes of grain this year and sees the export of 47 million tonnes in the 2018/19 July-June season.

Exports have reached 15.5 million tonnes, including 8.4 million tonnes of wheat and 3.8 million tonnes of corn, as of Nov. 14.
