U.S. milk production up 1% in October

(Baking Business) – U.S. milk production totaled 16,425 million lbs in October, up 1% from October 2012, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Milk Production report. January-October production totaled 168,294 million lbs, up 0.5% from the same 10 months last year. First-quarter production of 50,501 million lbs was down 1.1% from the first quarter of 2012, April-June production was 51,962 million lbs, up 0.9%, and July-September production of 49,406 million lbs was up 1.5%, the U.S.D.A. said.
