Russian Sugar-Beet Sowing Reaches 18% of Goal, Institute Says

(Bloomberg) – Russian sugar-beet sowing reached 213,000 hectares (526,334 acres), about 18 percent of the targeted area for the year, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies said.
Planting increased by 43,100 hectares from a year earlier, the Moscow-based institute, known as Ikar, said today on its website. Ikar cited Agriculture Ministry figures for April 18.
