Grains Higher Early Monday

(CME Group) – CME Globex trade is corn 6 cents higher, soybeans 7 cents higher, and wheat 5 cents higher.

6:00 a.m. CME Globex:    Corn 6 cents higher, soybeans 7 cents higher, and wheat 5 cents higher.
CME Globex Recap:    Grains traded higher overnight, erasing early losses despite light pressure from outside markets. Commercial buying in soybeans seemed to spark the rally, hinting at possible export sales news in the near future. Metals and energies were both lower, in step with Dow Jones Industrial Average futures. The U.S. dollar index was up slightly.
OUTSIDE MARKETS:   The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 172.79 points lower Friday at 13,009.68. The overnight session saw the Dow Jones futures trade 46 points lower, indicating stocks could see selling interest early Monday. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 166.42 points at 9,388.94. European markets were lower. The overnight crude oil market was $0.42 lower at $87.86 while Brent crude was $0.32 lower at $111.06. The December gold contract was $3.70 lower at $1,747.70 while the U.S. dollar index is 0.003 higher at 80.195. Soybeans at the Dalian exchange were mixed while Malaysian palm oil futures were mostly higher. View All Market Commentary
