Egypt Has Capacity to Store 4 mln Tonnes of Wheat – Ministry

(Agriculture.com) – Egypt, the world’s largest wheat importer, has the capacity to store 4 million tonnes of wheat this season, the supply ministry said on Friday, adding it had built new wheat silos for the additional storage.
In July, Egypt signed a deal with the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) to build two wheat silos in Port Said. At the time, Supply Minister Ali Moselhy said they would raise Egypt’s storage capacity for imported wheat by around 15%.
