(Bloomberg) – Corn and sugar are becoming more connected because of increased demand for biofuels and sweeteners, C. Czarnikow Sugar Futures Ltd. said in a report today. The growth in potential demand for ethanol “dwarfs” the global sugar market, Czarnikow said. About 100 million metric tons of corn would be required to meet total world ethanol demand, more than the volume of global trade of the grain, according to the report.
