Canadian Government Says Wheat, Canola Production to Increase

Weather affecting agriculture(Bloomberg) – Canada said that wheat production, including durum, will rise 4.1 percent to 26.3 million metric tons in the year that starts Aug. 1 from an estimated 25.261 million a year earlier.

The harvest excluding durum may climb to 21.7 million tons from 21.089 million, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said today in a report. Production of durum, used to make pasta, may rise to 4.6 million tons from 4.172 million.

Canola production may rise to 15.7 million tons from 14.165 million, the agency said.
