Bids End Day Mixed

CornSoybeanWheat450x299(High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal) – Compared to Jan. 9, wheat bids were mixed, corn bids were slightly lower, and soybean bids were higher, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Jan. 10.

Many are expecting South America to have large crop sizes and Brazil’s government recently raised corn crop estimates to 84.5 million metric tons and soybean crop estimates to 103.8 million metric tons.

Wheat was 1/2 cent lower to 1 cent higher. Corn was 1 to 2 cents lower. Sorghum was 3 cents lower. Soybeans were 8 to 9 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $4.38 1/4, down 1/4 cent.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $3.73 1/4, down 1/4 cent; Minneapolis, $5.66 1/4, up 1 1/2 cents; Portland, $4.56 to $4.71 3/4, unchanged to down 1/2 cent; St. Louis, $4.17 to $4.23, up.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.43 1/4, down 1 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, no quotes; southern Iowa, $3.73 3/4 to $3.41 1/4, down 2 1/4 to 1 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.33 to $3.35, down 2 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.63 3/4 to $9.68 3/4, up 8 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, no quotes; southern Iowa, $9.70 1/2 to $9.72 1/2, up 9 cents; central Illinois processors, $10.01 3/4 to $10.13 3/4, up 8 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 10, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $4.40 1/4 to $5.28 1/4, down 1/4 cent; 12% protein, $5.33 1/4 to $5.75 1/4, down 1/4 cent; 13% protein, $5.98 1/4 to $6.08 1/4, down 1/4 cent; 14% protein, $6.36 1/4 to $6.73 1/4, down 1/4 cent. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.77 to $3.80, up 2 to down 1 cent.
